2002-2012:
Maintenance of Scott and Jenny Fleming’s showcase California native plant garden in the Berkeley hills. Started in the early 1950’s, it is considered one of the oldest and most beautiful native plant gardens in a private home.
In 2010 the garden was documented by the Historic American Landscape Survey which is stored at the Library of Congress .
2004 and 2008: Published two articles about the Fleming garden. The first, in Pacific Horticulture, tells the history of the garden. The second, in Manzanita, explains why the garden was so successful.

2008 and 2010: Organizing committee for the Growing Natives Symposium sponsored by Pacific Horticulture, the California Native Plant Society and the Friends of the Regional Parks Botanic Garden.

2008: Foreman for the installation of the Slow Food Nation Victory Garden, designed by John Bela, at the Civic Center Plaza in San Francisco
